President sends message of Sympathy to the Prime Ministers of Bangladesh and Nepal

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy, in separate messages, to Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and His Excellency Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, following the crash of US-Bangla Airlines Flight BS211, at the runway of Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.

In the message to the Prime Ministers, President Yameen expressed his profound shock and sadness after learning the news of the plane crash causing the loss of lives and injury to many, which included nationals of Bangladesh and Nepal. President Yameen extended deepest sympathies of the Government and the people of Maldives to the Prime Ministers, the Governments and the people of Bangladesh and Nepal. President Yameen also conveyed heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved families, and offered prayers for a speedy recovery for all who were injured.

US-Bangla Airlines Flight BS211 was travelling from Dhaka to Kathmandu with 71 people including the crew, crashed at the runway of Tribhuvan International Airport, after attempts to land.
