Criminal Court has scheduled the trial of Siyad Qasim Ibrahim the MD of Villa Group, for next Sunday.
According to the court’s schedule the trial will begin at 3:00 pm.
Siyad was arrested on 6th February 2018 after announcing a state of emergency on 5th February. Siyad is being charged with offering bribery and also the Criminal Court on 21st February ordered to keep Siyad in custody until the end of the trial. Hence now Siyad is in Maafushi Jail.
Many people from the public say that Siyad was arrested because the government could not arrest Qasim Ibrahim.
Siyad’s father and his family has denied all allegations made against Siyad.
