The Non-Resident Ambassador of Serbia presents his Credentials to the President

The Non-Resident Ambassador of Serbia, His Excellency Mr. Valdimir Maric, presented his Letter of Credence to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning, at the President’s Office.

At the ceremony, the President welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives and congratulated him on the commencement of his term as the Ambassador of Serbia to the Maldives. He expressed hope towards working closely with the new Ambassador and the Government of Serbia on bilateral fronts, for the common benefit of both countries and its peoples.

The Ambassador returned the President’s sentiments with greetings and good wishes of the President and the Prime Minister of Serbia to the President and the people of the Maldives.

During the meeting, Ambassador Maric conveyed his assurances of Serbia’s full support and commitment in further enhancing cooperation with the Maldives in the different areas; especially in providing assistance in sports, trade, and education; and to explore new areas of mutual collaboration.

During the call the President was accompanied by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, Minister of State for Foreign Relations at the President’s Office H.E. Mohamed Naseer and Foreign Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ahmed Sareer.
