Maldives Police Service summons Prez Nasheed and Qasim Ibrahim

Maldives Police Service has sent summon orders to former President Nasheed and JP leader Qasim Ibrahim saying that they are fugitives on the run.

The summon orders were sent to the two opposition leaders via twitter by the official twitter handle of Maldives Police Service and it states that they should present themselves at the police station on 25th of this month.

Former President Nasheed was sentenced to 13 years in jail for abducting chief judge of the Criminal Court Abdullah Mohammed. Meanwhile Qasim Ibrahim was sentenced to three years for allegedly trying to bribe opposition members.

Both of them are living abroad at the moment. They were sent abroad to get treatment.

Maldives Police Service also warned that they will take action if Qasim and President Nasheed do not come to the police station.
