The Tourism Ministry of the Maldives have stated that the occupancy rate of the tourist resorts and hotels in the Maldives is at 63 percent.
The statistics revealed by the minister shows that by the end of August 972,839 tourists visited Maldives and this is a 9.1% increase compared to the same period last year.
So far, the greatest number of tourists are from China. Total of 194,111 tourists have visited from China this year.
Other countries in the top 10 list includes UK, Germany, Italy, India, Russia, France, America, Japan, and Australia.
