Opposition leaders proposes to be involved in the constitutional case submitted to the Supreme Court by President Yameen

Leaders of the opposition parties have proposed to be involve in the court proceedings of the constitutional case submitted to the Supreme Court by President Yameen to annul the 23rd September elections.

On 11th October 2018, representatives of former President Nasheed, former President Yameen, leader of JP Qasim, and AP’s president Imran proposed the Supreme Court to be part of the court proceedings of the case.

So far, the Supreme Court has not responded to the proposal. A hearing of the case is scheduled for tomorrow at 1:00 pm. Speaking to the media about the case, Hisaan Hussein the head of MDP’s legal team said that 6 lawyers will be representing the 4 leaders in court.

The case submitted by President Yameen is based on three things. They are confidential witnesses, rings which were apparently used to rig the election, and complaints regarding M7 which printed the ballot papers.
