Lots of people celebrated near the Supreme Court this afternoon after the Supreme Court decided not to accept the confidential testimonies submitted by the legal team of President Yameen in the constitutional case filed by him at the Supreme Court. People also rejoiced when Hisaan Hussein the lawyer of the opposition coalition in the case stated that the court will favor the people in this case.

After the hearing today, Hisaan said that the hearings have ended for the case and in the next hearing the court will issue a judgement. In addition she said that the court decided to reject the confidential witnesses submitted by President Yameen’s legal time.

She said that both parties in the case gave their final statements in today’s hearing. She said that the lawyers of the opposition coalition pointed out that the President Yameen’s legal team are just making an allegation of some wrong doings. She said that they also pointed out that no evidence was submitted to prove anything.
Hisaan said they also noted that the case was not submitted in accordance with the guidelines made by the Supreme Court in 2013.

“We are talking about guidelines made by the Supreme Court to ensure a free and fair election. The plaintiff could not prove that anything like that occurred” said Hisaan.
