A team from the joint opposition coalition has filed a case at Maldives Police Service requesting to prevent President Yameen from fleeing the country.

After filing the case at police, Hassan Latheef said that President Yameen cannot be allowed to leave the country since the Maldives Police Service is investigating MMPRC case and the money laundry case in which President Yameen is a suspect.

He further said that according to confirmed sources he learnt that the President is leaving the country and even if he is still the president, it is the responsibility of the police to stop him. Hassan said that he hopes the cases against the president are investigated as soon as possible.

Hassan Latheef said that one of the major reason the people voted for the opposition candidate Ibrahim Mohammed Solih is because they want to investigate President Yameen and attain justice.

Meanwhile, the deputy leader of PPM, Adbullah Abduh Raheem said that President Yameen will never flee the country.
