Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms Dunya Maumoon has sent a message of sympathy to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Anifah Hj. Aman, following the tragic news of a Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crash in Ukraine.

Minister Dunya’s message reads as follows:

“At this time of immense national grief, I would like to convey our deepest sympathy to you and the Government of Malaysia. Indeed, last night’s devastating tragedy has already added to what has been a difficult year for Malaysia. My Government and the people of Maldives join our brothers and sisters in Malaysia in praying for the lost souls and for courage for the members of the bereaved families.”

“At this time of national distress, we pledge full support to the Government and the people of Malaysia.”
