India-Maldives ties shall attain a significant landmark in November this year- Indian High Commissioner

Indian High Commissioner to Maldives, Rajeev Shahare has said that India and Maldives enjoy a special and close relationship based on robust people to people contacts since millennia and mutual trust and cooperation.

The High Commissioner made this remark in his message to the people of Maldives on the occasion of Maldives Independence Day.

He said that India-Maldives deep and time-tested ties too shall attain a significant landmark in November this year when the diplomatic relations will enter the golden jubilee year.

“I am confident that this relationship will continue to expand, diversify and strengthen in the coming years,” he said.

“On behalf of the people and the leadership of India and own behalf, it is my honour and pleasure to extend to the people and the leadership of the Republic of Maldives, very warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of the Independence Day. Maldives has commenced its 50th year of independence, a momentous milestone in the timeline of the country as also in terms of the remarkable progress and development achieved in the past five decades.”
