The Imam of the Friday Prayer has stated that the person who betrays trusts has no religiosity within him.

Friday sermon written by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed was read by the Imam of Masjid Thakurufaanu Muhammad al-A’dham, Sheikh Abdul Latheef.

Sheikh Abdul Latheef said that trustworthiness enhances the integrity and sound moral conduct that is inherent in the notion of honesty. He said that being trustworthy implies being honest, fair in dealings and punctual, in terms of both regularity and timeliness, as well as honouring trusts and keeping promises and commitments.

He said that this increases social ties and will spread kindness throughout the people.

The Imam said that reliability, honesty and trustworthiness are characteristics that must be present in anyone who claims to be a believer.

He added that the sayings of Prophet Muhammad indicate that dishonesty and betrayal are completely at odds with the Islamic faith.
