Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Aishath Muneeza has said that the people will be able to pay Zakatul Fitr easily through SMS even this year.

Dr. Muneeza said that SMS Zakat system will be established even this year. She added that the Ministry will also establish online payment via Banks.

In the recent years, the number of people paying their Fitr Zakat and general Zakat have been increased. Islamic Ministry have introduced easy ways to pay Zakat in addition to the many awareness programs organized by the ministry.

The ministry in cooperation with service providers, Dhiraagu and Ooreedoo, have opened ways for both their customers to pay Zakat through SMS.
