President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy, to the President of Afghanistan, His Excellency Mohammad Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, following the deadly bomb blasts in Kabul and Kunar.

The President’s message reads as follows:

“It was with deep shock and sorrow that I learnt of the series of deadly bomb blasts in Kabul and Kunar, causing the loss of lives and injury to many.”

“The Maldives strongly condemns all acts of terrorism and violence perpetuated against innocent people and believes that they serve no purpose other than causing absolute misery. We are fully committed to the fight against terrorism and express our firm solidarity with Afghanistan in all its efforts to maintain national peace and harmony.”

“The Government and the people of Maldives join me in conveying our deepest sympathies to Your Excellency, the Government and the brotherly people of Afghanistan. Please also extend my sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
