Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) President Hassan Luthfee has said that lack of access to information was still a pressing issue in conducting the work of the Commission.

He made the statement speaking at the ceremony held for civil servants to sign the integrity pledge held for the employees of the Information Commission. The initiative is run by ACC.

Luthfee said that even today, a complaint had been filed to the Commission regarding no compliance when requested for information.

“That letter should be sent to the Information Commissioner’s Office. However, the letter was sent to ACC, as the sender believed that as it was a corruption case, the recipient was ACC,” he said.

Luthfee said that ACC will begin an initiative to ensure accountability of Government, adding that the Commission will require full assistance of the Information Commissioner’s Office.

ACC and Information Commissioner’s Office today signed a pledge to carry out joint activities to ensure national integrity.
