President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has inaugurated YES TV; a TV channel aimed at youth, sports and entertainment, during a function held at Olympus on Tuesday evening.



The channel was established by Ministry of Youth & Sports and Public Service Media.



While speaking at the function, Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Zuhoor announced that within the next three years a sports channel will be launched under ‘YES TV’.



Mr. Zuhoor said YES doesnot stand only for youth.” Surely Y stands for Youth, E stands for Economics and Entertainment and S Stands for Sports and Social activities.



In addition to the Minister of Youth and Sports, the President was also accompanied at the function by Chairman of Public Service Media; Mr. Ibrahim Umar Manik, Managing Director of Public Service Media; Mr. Ibrahim Khaleel and Ministers of the Cabinet.
