Anti-Corruption Commission has won the Information Commissioner’s award given to the most transparent state institutions. The award is given to the institution which has the most amount of information readily available to the public.

At a ceremony held by the Information Commissioner’s office tonight, the Information Commissioner announced that ACC won the award and it was handed to ACC by Home Minister Azleen Ahmed.

Information Commissioner Abdul Azeez Jamaal Aboobakr said that if all the institutions publicize valid information, cases of misinformation and spread of invalid information would be reduced. He further said that if institutions publicize the information, the public will be also aware of the workings of the institution.

The commissioner noted that many institutions tend not to make information public even though it is very important.
