President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of greetings to the President of China, His Excellency Xi Jinping, on the occasion of the Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China. President Yameen also conveyed greetings of the occasion to the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Li Keqiang in separate messages.

The President’s message to the President of China reads as follows:

“On behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives, let me express my warmest felicitations to Your Excellency, the Government and the friendly people of China on the joyous occasion of the Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.”

“Our two countries share deep bonds of friendship and cooperation, and I look forward to a stronger partnership in the years to come, founded on a common aspiration for greater peace and prosperity for our peoples. May I also take this opportunity to reiterate that the Government and the people of Maldives remain truly gracious for the significant support that China continues to expend in our developmental efforts.”

“Please accept, Excellency, my personal best wishes for your good health and well-being, and for the continued progress and welfare of the people of China.”
