The Managing Director of ADK Hospital Ahmed Afaal have said that the medical service providers in Maldives faces challenges in providing quality health services.

Afaal made this statement while speaking at the symposium organized by ADK to discuss on ways to improve the safety and quality of health services in Maldives. Afaal said that lack of some relevant laws on how medical service providers should operate is also a huge challenge. He said that despite these challenges, private service providers continue to excel with the help of the government and the people.

He also said that due to the improvement in public health, some diseases have been completely eradicated in Maldives. However, he said that non-communicable diseases are increasing in Maldives and that is because of some unhealthy habits.
