President of the Civil Service Commission have said that most of the cases filed to the Employment Tribunal are concerning dismissal of staffs against the regulations of CSC.

He made this statement speaking at a ceremony held at the commission to release the annual report and to sign an agreement with finance ministry. Dr.Shameem said that last year 317 cases were filed to the commission and 242 of them have been completed. He said that 75 cases are going on even now. He also said that in 2016, 40 cases were filed at the Labor Tribunal against the commission. Dr.Shameem said that 14 cases out of them were completed and 26 cases are ongoing.

In addition, Dr.Shameem said that 2016 was the most challenging year for CSC but the commission made numerous achievements as well. Dr.Shameem said that they received the smallest budget in the history of CSC last year and that they had to cope with these economic reforms of the government.

He said that this made the commission to come up with innovative administrative measures to deal with the challenges. Dr.Shameem said these measures including learning to reduce costs and also they paid more attention to areas which were not prioritized before.
