Home Minister Azleen have said that during Umar Naseer’s tenure as home minister, large projects were contracted without a public bidding process as it should be done under the financial procurement act.

Speaking at a press conference held after teams from ACC entered Home Ministry to obtain information regarding proceedings of the 50th Independence Day celebrations, the minister said that many projects were awarded without even making contracts.

Minister Azleen said that he received information that some projects were awarded under the direct order of the home minister, after by passing the head of the procurement section of the ministry.

In addition, he said that the same people were awarded various projects at unreasonably high prices.
