President Yameen have stated that people who are identified in the audit reports will be investigated.
In a ceremony where 400 people from Fulidhoo joined PPM, the president said that he learned from the media that such cases are being investigated even now.
The president said that some people talk about corruption as if, corrupt activities started in the current administration. President said that the investigations show that such acts has been going on in the Maldives for a long time. He said that, if previous administrations investigated corruption properly and took action against it, such cases will not be that common now.
President also questioned whether any of the opposition figures who expressed interested in running for president will be safe from the ongoing investigations.
While the president has made remarks in this regard, a lot of people are concerned that the cases identified by the audit reports of 2007 of Theemuge, has not been investigated yet.
