Project to develop sewage systems in three islands of Addu City begins. The project is being conducted by MTCC.

MTCC has started the work of the sewage systems in Feydhoo, Maradhoo Feydhoo and Maradhoo today. The total cost of the project is 130 million Rufiyaa.

The project was officially inaugurated by Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim during a function held at Feydhoo today. Environment Ministry states that the project should be finished within fifteen months and 50 new jobs will be created.

The project is being funded by the state budget and OFID fund. Minister Thoriq said that upon competition of the project, the water contamination crisis in Addu will come to an end. In addition, the minister said that they have already contracted a company to provide water to these three islands and that project will be completed soon as well.
