Emirates celebrates 30 years of operations to Maldives

Emirates airlines have celebrated 30 years of operations to Maldives.

A ceremony was held at Velana International Airport to celebrate the anniversary. MD of MACL Adhil Moosa and District Manager Drel Suatz took part in the ceremony.

A water salute was given before the beginning of the ceremony. Speaking at the ceremony the MD of MACL said that Emirates has been operating to Maldives since 1987 and since that Emirates has been a customer and a partner to the aviation industry.

In addition, Adhil noted that since Emirates started operating to Maldives, the tourism industry of Maldives has also developed significantly. Speaking at the ceremony the District General Manager said that Emirates is one of the largest airlines in the world and that there are three flights to Dubai every day from Maldives. He also noted that there is a daily flight to Colombo as well from Male’.

Furthermore, he said that Emirates play a huge role in exportation of fish from Maldives via sky cargo service.

To celebrate the 30 year anniversary a cake was cut by MD of MACL, District Manager General of Emirates and a representative of MCA. In addition gifts were exchanged between MACL and Emirates.
