Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital has been handed over to NIMS Hospital, an Indian group renown for managing medical facilities in India.

Under the management of NIMS, the hospital will be upgraded to a tertiary hospital. Kulhufhuffushi Hospital was handed over to NIMS for 50 years and under the agreement NIMS should upgrade the hospital to a 150-bed tertiary hospital.

NIMS hospital will officially takeover the administration of Kulhudhuffushi Hospital on 10th July 2017. The agreement to handover the hospital was signed in a ceremony held at Heath Ministry today. Health Minister Abdullah Nazim signed on behalf of the ministry while the MD of NIMS Faizal Khan signed on behalf of NIMS Hospital.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Nazim said that the hospital was handed over to NIMS after reviewing their proposal at the social council. In addition the minister assured that Aasandha service will be available even though there is a change in administration.
