Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom have said that we should hope that the trials are just.

He made this statement while speaking to the press after visiting to Qasim Ibrahim who is admitted at Medica Hospital right now. He said it when a journalist asked whether the ongoing trials of various politicians would be just.

He said that, it is difficult to say anything specific but will know based on how the trial ends. Speaking about the recent Supreme Court verdict which results in parliament members losing their seats, Maumoon said that the decision is questionable.” For us it is not good. We are trying to right these wrongs. I am not saying anything against the Supreme Court. I respect them” said Maumoon.

President Maumoon said that lawyers are saying that there are problems with the verdict.
