The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency
Dr. Mohamed Asim has sent a message to Her Excellency Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, conveying sympathy to the Government and people of India.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“It was with deep shock and sadness that I learnt about the flash floods and landslides in several areas of Nagaland state, causing loss of lives, destruction of crops, plantations and livestock.
At this time of distress, the Government and the people of Maldives join me in conveying our profound sympathy to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of India.
Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families and please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
