Shaah Technical Consultants have been contracted with design and supervision of rainwater harvesting systems in 45 islands.
Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim signed on behalf of the government while Gotham Mahaavir Shaah signed on behalf of Shaah Technical Consultants. Under the agreement they have to design the systems within six months and supervise the development of the systems.
The cost of the project is 13,643,166.00 Rufiyaa. The 45 islands in this project are, Ha.Utheemu, Mulhadhoo, Muraidhoo, Uligamu, Maarandhoo, Filladhoo, Hdh.Finey, Kurinbee,
Neykurendhoo, Hirimaradhoo, Sh.Feydhoo, Naroodhoo, Feevah, Lhaimagu, Noomaraa, Bilehfahi, Funadhoo, N.Magoodhoo, Henbadhoo, Lhohi, AA.Himandhoo, Bodufulhadhoo, Mathiveri, Adh.Kunburudhoo, Dhigurah, M.Raimandhoo, Veyvah, Naalaafushi, Dh.Bandidhoo, Meedhoo, Hulhudheli, Th.Vandhoo, Gaadhihfushi, Omadhoo, Th.Kandoodhoo, Kinbidhoo, Dhiyamigili, Ga.Nilandhoo, Maamendhoo, Kondey, Gdh,Nadella, Hoadehdhoo, Fiyoaree, Rathafandhoo and Gdh Faresmaathodaa.
The project is conducted with grant aid from Green Climate Fund. UNDP will be overseeing the project and send progress reports to Green Climate Fund.
