Economic Minister Mohammed Saeed have said that economic slavery was the biggest fear post 2013, in Maldives but now the government has eliminated that fear.

Speaking at Rumalu2 campaign center of PPM last night, the minister said that if a country is not economically stable, then the country will always face some danger. He said that to retain the independence of the country, the most important thing to do is to have a strong economy.

The minister said that Dharumavantha Hospital will be one of the greatest pillars that will defend the independence of the country. He said that CMF Bridge and the new runway of the airport will be other pillars. “That is because, the economy of the country will become strong because of these places” said the minister.

Unavailability of adequate health services, is one reason why Maldives has to seek help from other countries. Dharumavantha Hospital and Treetop Hospital will be a solution to these problems. In addition the cancer treatment department that will be added to Hulhumale’ Hospital is an important service as well.

Once these projects are completed, Maldives will no longer be dependent on foreign countries for medical services. Hence, all developments to the health sector will benefit the country economically.
