Sageebaev has won gold, silver, and bronze medals in Free Pyramid World Cup previously. In addition he won the Dynamic Pyramid World Cup twice. Fayyaz will play against Lo Ho Sum of Hong Kong today. Two female players will also play in the 9-ball pool event of this tournament.

Aminath Fathy will play against Liu Shasha of China and Aminath Azra will play against Cho Chie Youa of Chinese Taipei.
