Five Indians have been arrested at Gan International Airport with more than 6 kilograms of drugs.

A statement issued by Customs today says that the 5 Indians came to Gan on 18th of this month via Sri Lankan Airlines. They were arrested after customs officials found them acting suspiciously. Thirty rubber packets with illegal narcotics was found on them.

Out of the thirty packets heroin was found in 17 packets and 4 packets had hashish oil in them. In addition, the remaining 9 packets had crystal meth in them. The five Indians are three men aged 27,29,29 and two women aged 53 and 32.

The total weight of the confiscated drugs is 6.423 kilograms and it has been handed over to Maldives Police Service.
