Foreign Minister Mohammed Asim have said that Maldives is proud because we believe that we have much to offer at the United Nations.
The minister said that while it has been 52 years since Maldives became a member of UN, Maldives has worked in the past 5 decades with a vision of the United States. In addition he said that, Maldivians are determined to work hard to achieve the goals of the UN. He said that the Maldives applied to be a member of UN security council with this aim.
He said that the Maldives believes that all the countries of UN should have the chance to become a member of UN security council.
