Qasim’s family have stated that bringing Qasim Ibrahim back to Maldives before his treatment is complete will be obstruction of treatment.
Qasim’s family made this statement because Maldives Correctional Service requested Qasim to come back to Maldives saying that they cannot extend Qasim’s stay.
Qasim underwent a heart surgery on 20th of this month at Mount Elizabeth Hospital of Singapore. Qasim’s doctor issued a statement saying that Qasim needs to be kept under observation for three months. Qasim’s family shared the statement with Maldives Correctional Service as well.
Qasim’s family requested Corrections to extend Qasim’s travel document until December 2017. Maldives Correctional Service has extended Qasim’s stay twice for 20 days.
Doctors have advised Qasim not to travel by plane after his surgery.
Qasim’s family requested everyone to keep Qasim in their prayers.
