Home Minister Azleen the chair of Asset Recovery Commission have said that, just because a case regarding corruption or misuse of state funds has not been investigated for a long time, it does not mean that the case will disappear.

Speaking to the press at the President’s Office the minister said that they are investigating cases of Air Maldives and FPID.

Azleen said that, no one can submit cases to the commission but their work is to investigate cases where relevant authorities have already created reports and try to recover the assets lost into corruption. He said that the previous governments did not try to recover assets like this and the President decided to recover these assets because it is obligatory for the government to do so.
