Parliament has passed the state budget for 2018. The budget was passed with votes from all 39 members who took part in the vote.
Speaking about the budget today, some parliament members said that projects will be conducted in all the islands of Maldives. In addition they said that by the end of the 5 year term, many needs of the people will be fulfilled.
All opposition members boycotted today’s parliament session. They say that the budget will not benefit the country and it will increase the debts. They also said that the budget does not focus on their constituencies and hence they should not vote for it.
