Saudi Arabia and UAE to give 160 million dollars as aid to Maldives

Fisheries Minister Dr.Mohammed Shainee have said that UAE and Saudi Arabia has decided to give 160 million dollars as aid to Maldives.

Minister Shainee tweeted saying that the government of Saudi and UAE have deiced to give 160 million dollars as aid to Maldives. He said that the money will be used for airport development project and developing the fisheries sector.

He also tweeted saying that the government of Saudi expressed concern about the situation of Maldives and urged the government of Maldives to resolve the crisis without influence from foreign parties.

Many countries expressed concerns about the situation in Maldives after the state of emergency was declared. Government sent envoys to various countries including Saudi Arabia. Dr.Shainee was the envoy sent to Saudi Arabia.
