PG leader of MDP, Ibrahim Mohammed Solih have said that, it would require 43 parliament members to be present in the parliament floor for the vote on extending the state of emergency to pass. Ibu said that the opposition MPs will not give the government that opportunity.

PG leader of JP, Abdullah Riyaz said that the government tried to pass the declaration during today’s sitting and some opposition members were offered bribes by the government MPS. He said that it is very worrying. “Things should be passed in the parliament in accordance with the law and not through bribes” said Riyaz.

Riyaz said that the fact that some PPM members noted that there were unlawful clauses in the declaration gave courage to the opposition members. He said that if the declaration is passed without 43 members then it will not be valid and no one should follow it.

Riyaz said that if the government works in accordance with the law the opposition will cooperate with the government but will not cooperate with any unlawful activity.
