National security committee of the parliament has passed the decree on state of emergency. The PPM PG leader Ahmed Nihan said that the decree was passed with majority votes.

Some clauses related to removal of the president, vice president, ministers, and AG were removed from the decree. Since the meeting of the committee was held behind closed doors, it is not clear which members voted against the decree.

Nihan said that if the parliament does not vote against the decree, then the decree is passed by default once it is presented to the parliament floor.

However, all decisions of the parliament must be passed with a majority vote and more than 50% of the members should be present in the floor which is 43 members according to the current composition of the parliament.

Nihan also said that he believes that there must be 43 members to pass the decree.
