Former Deputy PG, Hussein Shameem has been suspended by the Department of Judicial Administration. He said that he was not informed about the suspension and that he came to know about it through the media.

Speaking to the press he said that the DJA released a statement saying that he was suspended because the police is investigating him but he denied that he is being investigated. He said that he believes that he was suspended to harm his clients. He is on the legal team of former President Maumoon.

“I do not believe that this has anything to do with me, they are trying to intimidate my clients. I was suspended even before. This is not new to me and I will not go and ask the Supreme Court justices to remove the suspension. I think that they are trying to deprive my clients of legal representation” said Shameem.

In addition he said that if there is any case against him then he should be investigated and asked to take whatever action that is required.
