JP’s parliamentary group leader Abdullah Riyaz has become the leader of the joint-parliamentary group of the ruling coalition. He got this position because JP has the most number of MPs in the ruling coalition. 

At the moment there are 22 MPs who are from JP. MP Saud and MP Latheef also took part in JP’s parliamentary group meeting today. It is not known whether they officially joined JP. If they join JP, JP will have a total of 24 MPs.

The PG leader of the party with the most MPs become the leader of the joint parliamentary group as well. Previously the position was held by current President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih.
