President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih has suspended Youth Minister Mahloof and State Minister for Planning, Akram Kamaaludheen today after the ACC’s investigative report on MMPRC embezzlement case revealed that the two of them received 30,000 USD each through SOF which is a company which was involved in laundering the embezzled money. 

The two of them were temporarily suspended from their positions in the government after members of the public appealed to the president on social media asking to investigate the matter. 

Both of them will not do anything in their official capacities until the matter is fully investigated. Both Mahloof and Akram Kamaluddheen claims that they are innocent of any wrongdoings and that the transactions they conducted with SOF are legal.
