Ahmed Mohammedfulhu has been appointed as the Inspector of Correction Service by Home Minister Imran Abdullah.

According to the Prisons and Parole act of Maldives, the Home Minister has the authority to appoint the inspector of correctional service. 

Ahmed Mohammedfulhu was appointed to the position after the former inspector Mohammed Ibrahim Didi resigned from the position. 

The newly appointed inspector has a bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations. Till now he was working at the Human Rights Commission. He also worked as a deputy director general at Gender Ministry. He is also a member of the committee formed to audit the prisons. 

The job of the inspector is to inspect the conditions of the prisons and report it to the Home Minister.
