Solar panels has been installed in Nellaidhoo mosque. This is an initiative of Hdh.Nellaidhoo Ekuveringe Dhirun and the project was conducted with a grant from UNDP.

Linkserve installed the solar panels. According to the president of Nellaidhoo council, the solar panels were installed because of the rising cost of electricity as the mosque is airconditioned. He said that now the ACs are powered by the solar panels.

He further said that the electricity bills has decreased significantly since solar panels were installed.
