Villa College and Universal Foundation has signed an agreement to train hospitality industry professionals.

Under the program Villa College will conduct  a program named “Discover Hospitality” and 40 people will be trained under the program. The application period for this year’s program has been opened today and the application deadline is 22nd February. 

Completed application can be submitted to Villa College or to the head office of Universal Enterprises. In addition the application can be submitted online as well. 

In this course, three major components of the tourism industry will be covered. That is front office, house keeping and food and beverage services. According to the college, 20% of the course will be theory and 80 percent will be practical. The theory part will be conducted at Villa College while practical will be held in resorts owned by the Universal Group.

Universal Group will cover all the costs of the course and pay a monthly stipend of MVR 3000 to all participants. More than 80 percent of the students who took part in the program before are working in the tourism industry. 

The program is conducted under the corporate social responsibility program of the Universal Foundation. Universal Foundation is an organization formed by the Universal Group to conduct various CSR programs.
