Indian PM first offered assistance: Minister Shareef

President’s Office Minister Mohamed Hussain Shareef has said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first international leader to call on and offer assistance after the blast on board the Presidential yatch.

Speaking to PSM, Minister Shareef said that a representative of Indian PM called on the Minister, offered his sympathies, voiced his concerns and offered any assistance. He also said that Saudi King, Crown Prince and Defense Minister had also called and offered assistance. He added that the Sri Lankan government had also offered assistance.

Minister Shareef said that they had appealed to Saudi Arabia to provide forensic assistance. The Saudi experts had arrived last night.
