The bridge toll fee will be decided by the incoming government of President-elect Ibrahim Mohammed Solih. Previously, Housing Ministry was planning to announce a fee after the elections however since President Yameen did not win the election, the decision has been left to the incoming government.
Housing Ministry, police and transport authority were previously working together to decide on a fee. President Yameen’s government believes that a fee should be introduced for the bridge.
The government previously talked about reducing the bridge toll fee to a level cheaper than the ferry tickets.
