Former President Nasheed have said that the world should assist in developing Addu City.
Speaking to the people of Addu City after visiting the city for the first time since he returned to Maldives, President Nasheed said that Addu is located at a strategic location and hence Addu is very important for the whole world. He said that developing Addu City is important for world peace.
President Nasheed said that an international airport and a sea port should be developed in Addu City to connect it to the whole world. He said that tourism and trade should be developed as well. President Nasheed said that these things should be done by consulting with the people of Addu.
Furthermore, President Nasheed said that convention tourism should be developed in Addu. He said that since the convention center he developed has been converted into a hospital, a new convention center should be built if needed.
President Nasheed said that, the incoming government give a high priority to Addu City and will develop the city.
