Government of Thailand has closed “Maldives Beach Resort” a resort in Thailand named after the Maldives.
The resort was closed after the authorities discovered that some of the water villas in the resort were developed without obtaining the necessary permits. A compliant was filed at the marine and costal department of the resort by some people and then the authorities investigated the matter and closed the resort.
The resort rose to fame by using the name of Maldives.
