Sports festival planned to celebrate President-elect Solih’s inauguration has been launched today.
In a ceremony held at Henveyru football stadium, President-elect Solih launched the event. Other members of the coalition including Qasim Ibrahim, President Nasheed and Sheikh Imran took part in the event as well.
Speaking at the event, Qasim said that this event will end political rivalry and promote unity among the people. He said that the purpose of this event is to promote unity and reduce harted in the society. He said that sports is also important for a healthy life.
Qasim said that since he was always busy with work, he did not have time for sports. However he always helped sporting associations whenever he could.
“Humans wants human connections and good health. Sports should be played in a friendly spirit. Once the competition is over, that is all. After that the rivalry should end. “ said Qasim Ibrahim.
