Chinese newspapers have reported today that it is not a problem to investigate the transactions between Maldives and China. They further stated that, everything will be alright if the government makes decisions based on a way which will benefit Maldives.
The newspaper reported saying that the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that China did not conduct any projects that did not benefit the people of Maldives.
Chinese Ambassador in the Maldives Zhang Lizhong said that all loans were provided with a 5 year grace period and with 20 years to return the loan.
Also according to the ambassador China facilitated 1.5 billion dollars as loans to the Maldives which is half of the previous estimates.
