MP Hussen Mohamed Latheef and MP Ilham joins JP

MP Hussen Mohammed Latheef and MP Ilham has joined JP. MP Hussen was a close associate of former President Yameen.

Speaking at the ceremony held at Kunooz to welcome the two MPs, Hussen Latheef said that since he got elected to the parliament from PPM, he remained in the party till their government was voted out of office and tried his best to develop his constituency.

He said that today PPM has no leader and that it does not have a future. He said that he joined JP because he values the services of JP’s leader Qasim Ibrahim to the country and because JP always works in the best interest of the people.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ilham said that even though he left JP, and joined PPM he always had a good relationship with Qasim Ibrahim.

Speaking at the event, JP’s leader Qasim said that it has been just 10 years since Maldives ratified a new constitution and hence people will move from one party to the other. He said that MPs will switch parties based on the performance of the government.
